BiographyJames Gary Cooper, 91 of 512 W.N. Third St. Seneca. Passed Tuesday February 9, 2010. He was born in the Courtenay Community on May 2, 1918. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elem M. & Collie Abbott Cooper, a brother Sloan Cooper, sisters, Bernice Harden & Peggy Young. He was retired from Phillips Fibers and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor, also a member of Charles McGee Byrd Post #120 of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Reeves Cooper, a son Gary Cooper of Annapolis, MD., a daughter Denise Cooper Hyatt of Seneca, SC., brothers Charles Cooper of Berlin, Germany and Frankie Cooper of Seneca, SC., sisters Ollie C. Crabtree of Desert Hot Springs, CA., and Gladys C. Stone of Seneca, SC., Four grandchildren, One great-grandchild.
