Lewis Wesley Blackmon,75, of 517 Mary Scott Dr. died Tuesday February 23, 2010. He was born in Westminster, SC and was the son of the late, Barney Press and Pearl Lee Simmons Blackmon. He was a veteran and retired from the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Elaine Lavassar Blackmon. Brothers, Charles and Jack Blackmon. A sister, Ellen B. Waters. Surviving; A daughter, Audrey N. Owens of Westminster, SC. Brothers, Wilton and David Blackmon both of Seneca, SC. Sisters, Florence Bearden of Seneca, SC and Mary Ann Dyar of Simpsonville, SC. He has 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday February 27, 2010 at Brown-Oglesby Funeral Chapel with Revs, Jack Couch and Bobby Bramlett officiating. Burial will follow in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairplay,SC. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
