Life Legacy


Elizabeth “Liz” Sanders ,74, of 25 Humbert St. on Saturday, July 24, 2010 went peacefully to meet her Lord after several months of declining health. She was at her home in her beloved Utica Mill Village. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Robert Sanders and a sister, Agnes Sanders. She was the daughter of , William Ray and Lloyd K. Sanders. She is survived by: Sister, Alice Taylor and husband, Ray of Seneca, SC. Two nieces, four great nephews and one great niece. She graduated from Seneca High School, was a former employee of Nimmons Florist, senior solutions of Seneca and delivered the Seneca Daily Journal to the homes on the mill village for 30 years. She was a faithful member of Ann Hope Methodist Church and was a previous member of Utica Baptist Church. She loved her church and she loved her Lord. Liz was proud that she was born and lived her entire life on the Utica Mill Village. She enjoyed life and never met a stranger and had numerous friends and “adopted families”. She was an active member of Homemakers Club, Happy People, and The Hope Ministries Club. Liz did not learn to drive, and walked most of her life until her health started failing, so she was delighted for the CAT bus, of which she was able to have her “own” transportation. Liz had a passion for red birds, flowers (especially red roses) and the Carolina Gamecocks. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 27, 2010 at Brown-Oglesby Funeral Chapel . Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Brown-Oglesby 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
